Repointing
Raked out and repointed in a lime or sand-cement mix to suit the brickwork, so the joints shed water instead of soaking it up.

Chimneys cause more roof leaks than any other detail. We repoint, re-flaunch, renew lead flashings and rebuild stacks across Braintree, Chelmsford, Witham and Colchester — with a drone survey first so you can see exactly what you're paying to fix.
Chimney work
Raked out and repointed in a lime or sand-cement mix to suit the brickwork, so the joints shed water instead of soaking it up.
The mortar cap around the pots cracks first on most stacks. We cut it out and re-form it with a proper weathered fall.
Code 4 and code 5 lead soakers, front aprons, stepped flashings and back gutters chased into the joint — not smeared in mortar.
Where frost has blown the brickwork or the stack is leaning, we take it down to a sound course and rebuild in matching brick.
Bird guards, anti-downdraught cowls and full capping on disused stacks — always with ventilation so the flue can breathe.
Redundant stacks taken down below roof level and the roof made good in matching tile or slate.
